FOR YOUR SAFETY:

All Smiles by Jo components and products are tested for safety and compliant to all relevant regulations: AS/NZS 8124.1:2019, EN71 and BSEN 12586:2007+A1:2011.

PRIOR TO USE:
Please inspect items prior to each use. Check for loose parts, damage or any broken parts. Should you have any concerns or find something is loose/broken, please contact us and do not use the item.


CLEANING AND STORAGE:
Items with only silicone can be cleaned and sterilized by placing in a cup of boiling water, or in the dishwasher on the top shelf.

To store, keep in a clean, dry place. These can also be stored in the fridge or freezer, but please ensure to let them warm slightly before handing to baby as straight from the freezer risks ice burns.

Items containing wood or any other parts can be cleaned by wiping with a damp cloth using warm/hot water. Let cool prior to use.

Maintaining Wood Elements:
This is best achieved by rubbing with your choice of vegetable oil (we recommend coconut oil.)

This provides a natural, safe and edible antibacterial coating. As wood is porous it will naturally pick up bacteria, but an added coating of oil makes it harder for bacteria to be absorbed or survive on your item.

Store your items away from little hands, as ALL our items are to be used with adult supervision only.

GENERAL SAFETY
Smiles by Jo products are for use with adult supervision. Children under 3 should under NO circumstances be left unattended with any products.

Necklaces, Bracelets, Bangles and Keyrings/Bag Tags:

Smiles by Jo Jewellery is intended for use by adults or toddlers over the age of 3 (where Toddler Jewellery is stated.)

All Necklaces contain a breakaway clasp for added safety.

Keyrings and bag tags are intended for use only as part of a set of keys or bag, never on their own. They are safe if chewed, but are not designed for use as a teether and should not be used as such.

Children under 3 should not be left unsupervised while using Smiles by Jo items.


Rattles, Teethers and Playgym Toys:
All Smiles by Jo Rattles and teethers are designed for use with adult supervision only. Please don't leave your little ones unattended whilst using our products.

Playgym toys should be hung so baby can handle them, but not so baby can chew on them. When baby starts moving on hands and knees, it is recommended you discontinue use of playgym frames as this can present a strangulation hazard

Dummy Clips:
Please check dummy clips for damage/weakness prior to each use. Throw away at first sign of damage.

Smiles by Jo Dummy Clips should only be attached to garments, preferably thinner garments (thicker garments/layers can limit the lifespan of the clip)

NEVER:

  • Lengthen your dummy clip
  • Attach to loose fitting clothing
  • Attach to cords, ribbons or laces
  • Use in a cot, bed or crib.

Though our clips are designed to be safe to chew, they themselves should not be used as a toy or teether.
